VINEYARDS

Vineyard located in the river Las Tunas alluvial fan is characterized by an extreme, cold and dry climate with large temperature ranges. Alluvial, with grains of gravel covered with calcium carbonate at a shallow depth, caliche and calcareous sands. Elevation 1400 mt.

VINTAGE

2021 was a great vintage. With a cool and humid climate, the clusters had the necessary time to reach maturity with a perfect balance of sugar and acidity, and a great structure of tannins. Our meticulous work separating plots and types of soil for harvesting (which has been going on for more than a decade) allowed us to harvest every corner of our vineyards at the perfect time, thus showing the great diversity that characterizes the Uco Valley.

VINIFICATION

The grapes were destemmed and crushed. They underwent cold maceration for 5-7 days before classic vinification with native yeasts and fermented at 25-27ºCelcius. Then macerated for 20 days with periodic remontage and delestage (“rack and return”) and pumping-overs. Part of the wine was aged in French oak.

TASTING NOTES

Intense and lively red purple color. Intense red ripe fruit aromas such as prunes and cherries with black pepper and tobacco. Can also detect chocolate, cherry liqueur and spicy notes. Soft and velvety entry, firm tannins with lovely juicy finish.

TASTING NOTES

Tropical and expressive, the nose dominated by nectarines. There’s a fine line of bright acidity owing to the absence of malolactic. Concrete tanks dominant with a small amount of oak used. This is ‘oak light’ in style, Chablis inspired. The palate is lean and chalky with a mineral edge, behind that a touch of warmth.
